    Kitchen Garden Planner

There's a new Kitchen Garden Planner on the website of Gardener's Supply Company (I ordered some stuff from them).

Although they don't call it that, it's basically a Square Foot Garden planner.  You can either select from several pre-planned gardens or design your own, and get a planting map and crop information.

Thank you so much for the information!  I checked out the site and appreciate how they are pre planned out -- so easy.  I'll have to take a hard look later today and see if they are fit for our zone (and my tastes).  I can only hope that my garden looks as good just the drawings.

Don't worry too much about the USDA planting zones - that's primarily relevant for perennial plants, where you have to consider whether they'll be able to survive the winter.

For vegetables and herbs, just look at their growing characteristics (e.g. whether to start indoors or out, and when to sow/transplant relative to the last frost date).  That info is detailed on the website and in the Square Foot Gardening book; you can also extrapolate from the garden plan that I'm planning to use.
