Unassuming Grace

Drops of light and water,

Absorbed daily,

Nourished her

In the garden of her life.

Without warning,

An excavation

Threatened the source

Of the life-giving exchange.

And she,

Though unaccustomed to the lack,

With great grace,

Found a new way to sustenance

Without disturbing

The sediment

Needed to feed

The excavators.

Dedicated to my dear friend, Beth who recently weathered an extremely difficult life transition with the most amazing grace…

Written in response to OSI‘s prompt “grace” thanks to Brandi of Recklessly Me for this week’s prompt.
