what if
instead of running
we
slid gracefully
…out of time
…out of space
…out of patience?
Sliding gracefully out of patience.
Doesn’t that have a different tonal quality
than ‘running out of patience’?

wonderful ..
Sounds better than falling off a cliff with patience. :) Gracefully has such a soothing feel to it, rather than running. I agree.
Graceful is good, I aspire to gracefull in many things but truth be told I must confess that there are tmes when I am smitten with loss of patience and there is nothing graceful about it.
As always thanks for turning our distracted heads back towards compassion.
zoya, loch rob and DWL,
Thanks for sliding by!
DWL–smitten is better than slain, yes? Thanks for the kind words–
That is fun. And well worth a try!
With this, you made my day!

I’ll run with that!
great work
wonderful
Can one really slide gracefully?? Guess I don’t have that much coordination — or patience, or time, or space for that matter. I do love the tonal quality of it. Thanks so much for your awesome creativity!
Wonderful tonal quality. And it got me thinking that the people I am wary of are the ones that run out of patience instead of sliding out of patience. If they slide out of patience, I can see the signs and can monitor my behavior in case it is taxing them (which often happens). If they run out of patience it shocks and baffles me. It can even scare me if it is loud enough!
Your poem opened many doors for me.

Hi all–thanks for stopping by–
Tania–it’s one reason I love to watch baseball, is just to see those athletes throw their whole self against the base in a swan dive!!
Andree–
Thank you so much for your comment. It indeed is a reminder for me to always slide rather than run out of the important things in life…patience being one of them!
Hi Beth, I like this take! I see it as ‘sliding into’ instead of ‘running out of.’
Thanks a lot for using my OSI prompt, ‘running.’
Thank you too for peeking in on my fun blog with the dogs. Next time you come ‘search’ (upper right blogger box) for "Adi" who is my beagle therapy dog. Or "Adi can" where she is always showing off.
..
Now that is a good idea.
I can’t tell you how huge a grin that has left me with….as someone who finally slid gracefully out of all patience this week!
Wonderful illuminating perspective on the prompt as ever.
Love to you
If the slope is slippery… slalom that is one way to slide with patience and grace.
Perfect. I need to try that with out of time and patience!
Graceful is good! It surely changes the complexion of the action!
But we more often than not, run out of patience?
Yeah, take it in strides, not run…
if not tempted to run… I often do, I am always in a hurry to let things happen!
running out of patience, we have so many interesting sayings. slide gracefully out of patience, I like that.
Thank you for this.
